Chair Massage Business Ideas

Massage Chair Business Idea Basics In this article we offer a quick description of inner workings of chair massage. We then go on to outline and examine a few business ideas that you can implement to earn additional (or even a full income) from positioning and outlining chair massage benefits to the business community.

The typical chair massage usually lasts 10 - 15 minutes and is given in a shiatsu style treatment. Independently finding clientele for chair massage can be difficult. Most massage therapy offices do not offer this service, including chiropractic locations. It is also difficult to charge a decent rate for a 10 - 15 minute service, let alone have someone travel to your location for such a short service. On the plus side some of these boundaries have led to low competition within the chair massage niche. While, as we've outlined, the short time frame is a detriment in more traditional massage circles, this can be used to a smart massage entrepreneurs advantage. How?

First you will need to canvas your list of contacts and find one that has decision making capabilities at a business place (office environment). Sell this person on the advantages of the massage, how easy it is for you as the masseuse to bring your equipment into the workplace, and how you can quickly and easily administer a basic shiatsu massage, even with the clients clothes on. You can package your services into time blocks. Block one massage in per fifteen minutes, which will result in a max of four massages an hour. Pick a day in the week and sell a three to four hour block to the employer. To cover yourself bring consent forms and make all employees that you will be working fill out medical history fact sheets. Charging a rate of $75 per hour isn't outrageous. The benefits to the employer are relaxed and satisfied employees. It also gives employees something to look forward to during the work week. Depending on the size of a workplace or contract you can even bring in some outside help to cover all of the employers needs.

This is just one of many ways that you can effectively position chair massage into a core offering of your business. We’ll offer more chair massage business ideas in the coming months.
